Matt's Commercial Demo
Q & A With Matt:
How did you get into voiceover? Years of voicing/producing radio spots. Eventually got a few release fees for spots to be played on other stations, which yielded attention from agencies and paid freelance jobs. It was truly an evolution for me.
What type of voiceover projects are your favorite to work on? All of them. I love the challenge of flexing my skills to apply to serious, technical, emotional, or humorous copy. But if I have to choose, I REALLY love reading funny copy and playing characters.
How would you describe your voice? Confident, friendly, mid-range conversational.
What's your go-to dish at your favorite restaurant? A big, sloppy sandwich with whatever side they recommend. I try to avoid making special requests or substitutions at restaurants because I trust the chef's creativity and take pride in being an adventurous eater.
What was your favorite concert and why? Steely Dan at Ruoff (Verizon at the time, Deer Creek forever) in the summer of 2015. My wife and I were at the very back of the lawn in the thick of the humanity. The sun was setting directly into our eyes on a warm night, so all we had was the music and the company of each other. Oh, and just enough bourbon in our bellies
If you were being chased by Toucan Sam in a fever dream, what lawn and garden tool would you use to fend him off and why? 24-inch metal leaf rake. Lightweight, long, and effective even as I scream and flail it chaotically.
