An American In Paris star performs birthday tribute to Dick Van Dyke

December 16, 2016

Indianapolis native Cory Lingner was destined for Broadway. In his short time in New York City, he’s been featured in the productions On The Town, An American In Paris, and has landed a role in the upcoming Charlie And The Chocolate Factory debuting in March 2017. On a recent visit to Indianapolis, Cory teamed-up with Conrad Piccirillo of INNOVATIVE to shoot a tribute to Dick Van Dyke, who recently celebrated his 91st birthday. Set to the song Put On A Happy Face from the musical Bye Bye Birdie – in which Dick Van Dyke starred and won a Tony Award in 1961 – Cory’s tribute includes original choreography and was shot entirely on the Canal Walk in downtown Indianapolis. Joining Cory are dance partners Lisa Schneider and Michelle Martin. Earshot Audiopost’s Brice Bowman recorded Cory’s vocals in Studio 1 and provided the final mix for playback on location. The tribute video gained attention by Broadway World and is featured on their web site. Check it out!
